Family Law Attorney
Role Description
This is a full-time, Family Law Attorney role based in San Antonio, TX. The attorney will manage a family law caseload from intake through resolution, including conducting client consultations, developing case strategies, and providing ongoing legal counsel. Daily responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements; preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and trials; and handling depositions and related litigation tasks as needed. The role also involves communicating regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel; maintaining accurate case files and deadlines; and collaborating with internal staff to ensure efficient case management.
The attorney is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism, ethics, and client-centered advocacy, with strong support staff to help provide the exceptional service to our clients.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and demonstrated ability to analyze complex Legal Issues relevant to family law practice.
- Substantive experience in Family Law, including divorce, child custody, support, and property division matters.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing Motions, with solid courtroom advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Experience preparing for and conducting Depositions, and effectively using discovery to build case strategies.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or eligibility for admission).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated client service mindset, including empathy, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive family matters.
- Litigation and mediation experience in family law settings preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team, take initiative, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
