Family Law Associate

Hoge Fenton, a distinguished multi-service law firm headquartered in downtown San Jose, is seeking a Family Law Associate to join our Family Law group.

About the role

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience practicing law in a private firm setting and a demonstrated interest in providing advice and counsel to clients with a broad spectrum of family law issues. This person will collaborate with others in the family law group to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases, including complex financial issues, custody, and domestic violence.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
• Prepare for and engage in settlement negotiations, hearings, and trials to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in our family law group to deliver the best results.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and community engagement.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar of California.
• 4+ years of legal experience and a demonstrated interest in Family Law.
• Demonstrated ability to handle client matters independently and effectively.
• Proven ability to collaborate with other attorneys and experts to identify legal issues and plan case strategies.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in court settings.
• Experience representing clients before judicial officers and in mediations, drafting discovery, drafting pleadings, preparing financial disclosures, working with experts, and conducting settlement negotiations.

Location

This position can be based in any of our offices: Silicon Valley (downtown San Jose), Tri-Valley (Pleasanton), or Peninsula (San Mateo). Travel between locations may be necessary.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $225,000.
