Family Engagement Specialist

About the role

This position manages full cycle recruiting and provides ongoing case management and services to ensure long term involvement with foster parents.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate and conduct recruiting events; identify and build relationships with community groups that could provide a viable candidate pool
• Adhere to, and drive Merakey recruitment best practices including administering interview feedback/collection
• Interview and approve foster parents
• Partner with candidates through the background screening and credentialing processes to expedite the process
• Ensure a best in class candidate experience and employment brand on behalf of Merakey
• Collaborate during intake to identify the most appropriate environment for placement
• Conduct monthly supervision with foster parents
• Ensure foster parents are meeting expectations of necessary documentation and deadlines
• Provide primary input, based on observation, documentation and experience, in identifying concerns, continuation of care, etc.
• Conduct training as needed
• Support interactions with children (e.g., was identified training implemented/helpful)
• Approve and manage documentation from foster parents, ensuring on time payment
• Meet all necessary compliance issues including but not limited to clearances, fire drills, walk throughs to ensure safety of the home, quality care
• Create, edit and keep documentation per Merakey policy and practice in a timely manner

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of experience with social services/healthcare admissions
• Experience engaging with a diverse population and ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations
• Experience working with clients, developing trust and conducting interviews in non-traditional settings

Skills

• Good customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Awareness of marketing principles
• Broad experience with computers and software applications
• Ability to develop teamwork

Pay

Earn $19/hour.
