STATEMENT OF DUTIES Summary Of Job Classification Provides individual case management and coordination of family-related matters, including domestic relations, domestic violence, dependency, and neglect and delinquency cases before the courts. Additional Comments Salary offers begin at the minimum of the range as advertised. Relevant experience will be considered. A talent pool may be established as a result of this recruitment. Resume/CV and cover letter are required with each application. This position could include non-traditional working hours and is not a fully remote position. The selected candidate will be required to be in the office at least 50% of the time to support court operations and collaborate with internal and external partners. The position will serve as a community engagement representative and liaison between agencies working in the Dependency & Neglect (D&N) and Delinquency areas. Responsibilities also include support for truancy matters and specialty court dockets, and pilot projects. This role includes working with clientele going through difficult circumstances, including children and families involved in dependency and neglect cases. The candidate must be able to navigate challenging, emotionally charged situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment. The position requires close collaboration with legal professionals, court staff, and multiple stakeholders, each with diverse working styles and personalities. The person in this role is expected to be a leader on the Best Practice Court Team and to demonstrate the ability to facilitate / co-facilitate regular meetings of multiple Juvenile task forces. Strong multi‑tasking abilities, adaptability, and the capacity to adjust daily priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential. This is a new position that will collaborate with the current Juvenile Court Facilitator. This new position is created to address the expansion of the JCF’s office into juvenile delinquency matters, and the increasing needs in dependency and neglect matters. This position will enhance services and coordination across juvenile court processes. Essential Functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Manages domestic case types, which can include Dependency and Neglect, Delinquency, Truancy, Adoption, and Relinquishment. Conducts status conferences and assists parties with identification of disputed issues and options for resolution. Liaises between the specialty court magistrate, court personnel, treatment providers, attorneys, and other members of the specialty team. Facilitates the exchange of necessary information and prepares cases for judicial officers. Assists parties and counsel in understanding court processes and policies. Attends, participates, and manages subcommittees of Best Practice Court Team and other stakeholder meetings to assist with implementation of system and policy changes, new processes, and pilot projects. Helps manage Truancy Docket and Specialty Court Youth Educational Support Services (YESS). Attends Truancy Advisement Court, engages with potential program participants, and connects families with assessment providers. Attends YESS docket monthly, staff cases, and program management meetings. Assists with docket development. Participates in and coordinates trainings and meetings related to issues, policies, and procedures. Reviews and evaluates policies, practices, structure, functions, grants, programs, and resources within the juvenile system. Establishes response procedures designed to address internal and external requests for information. Collects and interprets data. Reports on trends and makes recommendations to improve upon services. Identifies problems and implements solutions in conjunction with community stakeholders. Attends meetings and training as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Functions Cont. Supervisor Responsibilities: Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees. The work performed by a majority of employees is complex. Human Collaboration Interactions may result in decisions regarding implementation of policies. Contact may involve support of controversial positions or the negotiation of sensitive issues or important presentations. Contacts may involve stressful, negative interactions with the public requiring high levels of tact and the ability to respond to aggressive interpersonal interactions. Interactions have limited impact. Freedom To Act & Impact Of Actions Receives Limited Direction Employee normally perform assignments according to your own judgment, requesting Supervisory assistance only when necessary. Special projects are managed with little oversight and assignments may be reviewed upon completion. Performance reviewed periodically. Impact of actions are significant. Knowledge & Skills Advanced Work requires advanced skills and advanced & extensive knowledge of work. Incumbent can handle complex tasks and translate complex nuances related to aspects of the job. Recognized by others within organization for technical depth of knowledge. Likely impact on organization is standard. Fiscal Responsibility May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for functional area budget allocations. May monitor division or program/promotional level budget and expenditures. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience Equivalency: Bachelor’s degree in the field of Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field. OR Additional relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education. Work Related Experience 3 to 5 years of experience in social work, legal, or other related field. Licenses And Certifications None. Physical Effort Requirements Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally. Work Environment Good-Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Work Location: Office or similar indoor environment; confined space. Exposures Individuals who are hostile or irate; individuals with known violent backgrounds; communicable diseases.
