Family Birth Center Surgical Technician

About the role

The Surgical Technician will prepare the operating room and surgical team for various procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting with setup of equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Applies principles and techniques of asepsis to work assignments
• Sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes, and solutions
• Aids in scrubbing, preparing the sterile field, and gowning/gloving of surgical team members
• Assists with positioning and draping of patients under the direction of qualified practitioners
• Assists with comfort and safety measures under the direction of qualified practitioners
• Transfers and positions patients onto the operating room table and covers them with sterile surgical drapes
• Assists anesthesia personnel as needed under the direction of qualified practitioners

Requirements

• Graduation from a surgical technology program accredited through Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology (ARC-ST)
• Surgical Technologist Registration: WA
• Registered Nurse: WA
• Basic Life Support - CPR

Preferred

• Six months operating room work experience demonstrating attainment of requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
