About the Role

Be the connection between families in crisis and the resources that can help them move forward. As a Family Assistance Program Specialist at Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. (CPLC), you will make a direct impact in communities across Arizona by helping individuals and families access critical emergency assistance and resources when they need them most. CPLC is a non-profit organization and one of the largest Hispanic Community Development Corporations in the United States, committed to empowering individuals through health & human services, housing, education, and economic development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general emergency assistance and resource navigation to low-income households throughout Arizona.
  • Support individuals and families experiencing crisis by helping them access utility, rental, funeral, and other available assistance.
  • Participate in community outreach events, engage with youth and families, and support workshops and events.
  • Assist eligible individuals in accessing state resources and other services.
  • Ensure applicants receive accurate guidance throughout the application process.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of program eligibility requirements, application procedures, relevant policies, and available community resources.
  • Support the Project Lead in implementing grant deliverables.
  • Participate in youth, individual, and family programming to achieve contract and grant goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least two (2) years of experience working with low-income populations preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and partner organizations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, and web-based computer programs.
  • Successful co-facilitation experience preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to attend outreach events in grant service areas.
