Family Advocate & Forensic Interviewer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports children and families utilizing the services of the Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson County Children’s Advocacy Center.
• Ensures a continuum of services for children who have been victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect, or other types of trauma.
• Provides comprehensive case management services, offers support, education, and guidance to child victims of crime and their non-offending family members.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary partners involved in the investigation, treatment, and recovery process.
• Conducts forensic interviews with children who disclose abuse.
• Collects and maintains case data.
• Prepares cases for weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) case review meetings.
• Participates and helps facilitate those meetings.
• Collaborates closely with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical providers, therapists, and other community partners to ensure children and families receive timely, coordinated, and compassionate care.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher required.
• Preference given to candidates with a degree in Human Services.
• Strong working knowledge of community resources and forensic interviewing is preferred.
