Families Together Building Solutions Supervisor/Worker

About the role

This position provides supervision and direct services in the Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) Program which provides homebased services to assist in reducing child abuse/neglect, solution-focused services to assist families with meeting behaviorally specific goals and aims to keep families intact. This position will serve Cass and St. Joseph counties.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a resource to staff, including clinical back-up.
• Provides an average of 3 hours per week per family in face-to-face service.
• Accepts referrals via telephone or in-person.
• Transports clients utilizing personal vehicle, as needed.
• Oversees program operations related to the family’s entry and participation in the program.
• Conducts weekly individual supervision with each FTBS worker.
• Maintains program records and documentation of services provided to each family through utilization of required MDHHS forms.
• Attends trainings/meetings as required by MDHHS and CCWM.
• Ensures that contractual requirements are being met.
• Ensures an effective process for receiving, tracking, assigning referrals, and caseloads as outlined in contract.
• Ensures staff are not assigned more cases than the maximum and that staff are exercising self-care techniques to reduce burn-out and compassion fatigue.
• Schedules case openings, staff vacations, training, and events that ensure program coverage.
• Tracks and monitors progress of families and program outcome measurements including follow ups.
• Enters family information, data, demographics, and statistical information in the Family Preservation Contractor Data and Information Exchange SharePoint.
• Completes regular performance evaluations of FTBS staff to assess knowledge of and compliance with philosophy and intervention strategies.
• Participates in the interviewing and hiring of staff for the FTBS Program.
• Participates in internal agency meetings, including Supervisors Meetings and other meetings, as required.
• Participates in development of annual program budget and monitors adherence to that budget, over the year.
• Attends court hearings with staff, when necessary, to ensure staff are supported and program model is upheld.

Requirements

• Commitment to and capable of adhering to the Solution-Focused, Brief Therapy Treatment Model.
• Demonstrated knowledge pertaining to child welfare policies and programs, family and individual theories; treatment (intervention and technique) philosophies and strategies of home-based services, as well as knowledge and availability of local resources.
• Non-judgmental positive attitude toward families in crisis.
• Understanding for the Families Together Building Solutions and Family Preservation philosophy and intervention strategies.
• Commitment to empowering families.
• Ability to work in partnership with other team members and/or service providers.
• Sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in the agency’s service population.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any human services field or the field of education is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of prior supervisory work experience or potential for providing supervision to staff providing in-home services is required.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of child welfare policies and programs.
• Experience with home-based services and the Solution-Focused, Brief Therapy Treatment Model.

Benefits

Salary Up to $58,905.00 annually based on relevant supervisory work experience.

Flexible work schedules must be maintained to ensure appointments are scheduled based on families’ needs and to allow for timely crisis intervention.
