About the role
SiriusXM is seeking interns with a passion for radio and a strong background in music and production. The role involves working directly with music programmers and producers to understand the creation process of on-air programming, music channels, and live shows.
Responsibilities
- Edit and ingest audio for on-air programming including interviews, guest DJs, and performances.
- Aid in maintaining the music database through scheduling (Music Master) and metadata (Galaxy) software.
- Assist in building specialty programming in the automation system.
- Load promos and specialty imaging.
- Compile playlists for mix shows to be reported to music labels.
- Prepare for on-air talent (concert dates, news, etc).
- Interact with listeners through email and on-air phone screening.
- Shadow artist studio sessions (in-studio performances and interviews, or via zoom).
- Participate in on-air content.
- May assist with music archiving.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Current or recent student enrolled in a university or broadcasting school with one-year programs.
- Broadcast communications major preferred.
- Prior internship or working experience in radio/TV preferred.
- Experience with digital media systems, a plus.
- Good project and personnel management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to pay attention to details and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Familiarity with SiriusXM programming.
- Knowledge of various music styles and genres.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience with digital editing software (Cool Edit, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition), a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Legal right to work in the U.S.

Pay
The base salary for this position is $18/hr, and it may be subject to discretionary short-term and long-term incentives.
Schedule
