Fall Intern, Audio Production - Part-Time

About the role

SiriusXM is seeking interns with a passion for radio and a strong background in music genres. Interns will gain hands-on experience in creating on-air programming, managing music databases, and assisting with various aspects of audio production.

Responsibilities

• Edit and ingest audio for on-air programming including interviews, guest DJs, and performances.
• Aid in maintaining the music database through scheduling and metadata software.
• Assist in building specialty programming in the automation system.
• Load promos and specialty imaging.
• Compile playlists for mix shows to be reported to music labels.
• Prepare shows for on-air talent (concert dates, news, etc.).
• Interact with listeners through email and on-air phone screening.
• Shadow artist studio sessions (in-studio performances and interviews).
• Participate in on-air content.
• May assist with music archiving.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Current students enrolled at a university (graduating by September 2027 preferred), or recent graduates who graduated within the past year.
• Preference given to broadcast communications majors.
• Prior internship or working experience in radio/TV is preferred.
• Experience with digital media systems is a plus.
• Good project and personnel management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to pay attention to details and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects.
• Familiarity with SiriusXM programming.
• Knowledge of various music styles and genres.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Experience with digital editing software (Cool Edit, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition) is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Legal right to work in the U.S.
