Fall Event Attendant $16.90/HR

About the role

Discovery Kingdom is hiring attendants for two seasonal events:

• Oktoberfest Attendants roam the event area and assist talent as needed, reporting to the Oktoberfest Stage Manager.
• Tricks N Treats Door Activators are stationed at themed doors where children knock, distributing and restocking candy throughout the event, reporting to the Tricks N Treats Stage Manager.

Responsibilities

• Entertain park Guests in a professional manner.
• Ensure a positive experience for every Guest.
• Control crowds and interact with Guests in a supportive and understanding role.
• Maintain and clean Stadiums, Show Venues, and Backstage areas.
• Work Private Events or Shows as assigned.
• Ensure the safety of Guests, animals, and performers.
• Maintain “show illusion” and belief of character at all times for Guests.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Ability to confidently perform and speak in front of large crowds.
• Skills to improvise interactions with Guests and licensed characters.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly standing, talking, climbing, walking, reaching, using finger movement, grasping, feeling, speaking clearly, hearing conversation, using hearing acuity, seeing near and far, stooping, bending, and kneeling.
• Working in extreme heat, sun, cold, wetness, humidity, and temperature changes.
• Must be able to carry 5 to 10 lbs. All lifts over 51 lbs. require help from a coworker or mechanical device.
• Overtime may be required from time to time to accommodate business needs.
