Fall 20th Century Design Internship

About the role

The internship is a three-month, fixed-term position starting September 8, 2026, ending December 11th, 2026. Applications close on August 14, 2026 at 5pm EST.

Responsibilities

• Gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a successful international auction house.
• Assist in training and learning Phillips’ systems and research procedures.
• Contribute to the Design department by directly assisting during the Fall sale season.
• Benefit from professional development opportunities within the art industry.

Requirements

• A specific interest in 20th and 21st century Design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student seeking a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
• An academic focus in the history of art and design is preferred.

Skills

• Informed interest in 20th and 21st century Design.
• Comfort working in-person and over email with sale department colleagues and senior staff.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Willingness and desire to learn and ask questions.
• Strong work ethic with effective time management.
• Ability to multi-task, take initiative, and work well independently.

$17/hour
