About the role
The California Post is the West Coast newsroom from the New York Post, delivering original reporting, breaking news, entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and culture coverage tailored to California audiences. Backed by one of America's most iconic media organizations, we're building a modern, digital-first newsroom that moves fast, embraces innovation, and gives interns the opportunity to make an immediate impact.
Unlike larger, more established newsrooms, the California Post offers interns the chance to roll up their sleeves and gain real newsroom experience from day one. You'll work alongside experienced editors, reporters, producers, and digital journalists, contribute to live coverage, attend editorial meetings, pitch ideas, and develop the skills needed to launch a successful career in journalism.

Program Details
Program Dates: September 14, 2026 – November 20, 2026 (10 weeks)
Schedule: 24 hours per week
Location: On site in our Los Angeles (Century City) newsroom
Pay
$20.00 per hour
Qualifications
We're looking for ambitious, curious, and resourceful storytellers who are excited to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative newsroom. Qualified candidates include:
- Current juniors and seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree
- Current master's students
- Recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year
Candidates pursuing degrees in Journalism, Communications, English, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
While all qualified candidates are welcome, special consideration will be given to applicants with prior journalism, newsroom, campus media, student newspaper, broadcast, digital media, or reporting experience, including previous internships or published work.
