About the role
Our Intern program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while applying learnings from the classroom. This semester, we will continue with a hybrid program, offering each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3 days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
Schedule
- Fall Program: Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026
- Office Hours: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday (or as agreed upon with advisor)
- Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor’s schedules
- Interns must be available to work under 30 hours per week, reporting to the New York office approximately 3 days a week
Requirements
- Senior standing in college (must have completed junior year of undergrad) OR enrolled in graduate school OR have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree
Responsibilities
- Assist the Brand Marketing team with research and brainstorms to create market opportunities for clients
- Assist in the management and data upload/tracking of client deliverables
- Support the Brand Marketing team with confidential client projects
- Gain a thorough understanding of the coordination and planning process of marketing events and/or appearances for clients
- Learn the process of negotiation and execution of marketing contracts and/or appearances
- Learn the process of pitching new brands/clients
- Learn how to build and maintain positive client relationships that result in enhanced partnerships and increased opportunities
- Assist with research and brainstorms to create sponsorship activation, hospitality, and marketing initiatives
- Learn how to develop ideas for engaging event branding, collateral, and on-site materials
- Learn how to create planning tracking tools and on-site materials (e.g., rooming lists, confirmation documents, food and beverage schedules, transportation manifests)
- Conduct research, analysis, and provide recommendations to gain greater knowledge of the industry
- Support the day-to-day management of Excel Sports Management (ESM) Brand Marketing clients across all sponsorship marketing and activation initiatives
- Facilitate and support daily client interaction across brand, property, and agency partners to support sponsorship functions and associated programming
- Support the development of creative platforms and new consumer engagement activations across current and future client sponsorship opportunities
- Coordinate client-vendor relationships and necessary activation deliverables on behalf of clients
- Learn how to create activation briefs, recaps, event itineraries, and staff plans
- Assist in planning and supporting client status calls, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and creating/maintaining status documents
- Support teammates across the group to ensure flawless client service and a second-to-none agency experience
- Have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings
- May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Brand Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel
Pay
$17.00 per hour
