About the role

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate mechatronics engineering technology courses, create instructional materials, direct course projects, and hold regular office hours. They will also participate in industry and program informational outreach, collaborate with other faculty and staff, and promote the well-being of the department and college.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Industry and/or teaching experience

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in relevant discipline preferred
  • Experience in subject matter and curriculum development pertinent to mechatronics engineering technology

Skills

  • Knowledge of subject matter and curriculum development
  • Knowledge of teaching through implementing appropriate pedagogy, clear presentation, and preparation
  • Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation
  • Knowledge of program and curriculum development and evaluation
  • Knowledge of and expertise in current trends in education, engaged learning and service learning, learning technologies, and public presenting
  • Knowledge of online teaching environment, such as Canvas or other course management systems

Abilities

  • Implement instructional strategies and techniques to teach course content effectively
  • Function effectively on various committees and assignments that serve the needs of the University
  • Work with the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly growing and dynamic institution
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects
  • Work with a wide range of individuals, programs, departments, and industry professionals
  • Follow written and verbal procedures and instructions
  • Communicate verbally and in writing
  • Interpret the University’s core values (exceptional care, exceptional accountability, and exceptional results)
  • Plan measurable objectives, prepare instructional materials, and follow an approved curriculum
  • Conduct a student-oriented approach to education
  • Absorb and maintain accurate and current plans, reports, and records involving student accountability, attendance, and performance
  • Use a classroom learning management system, such as Canvas

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience.

The position is full-time.
