Faculty Positions in Center for Cancer Health Equity, Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health
About the role
The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA and the Center for Health Equity at SKCC are seeking new tenure-track faculty positions in population science. The positions aim to form a cluster focused on Cancer Health Equity and will include up to three tenure-track faculty members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research focused on structural racism, disparities, and the impact on cancer-related outcomes.
- Investigate healthcare access and associated policies, and how structural racism is measured.
- Develop interventions and/or policy changes to create racially just and equitable cancer health outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Center for Cancer Health Equity, which provides access to EPIC-derived cohorts, quantitative staff, postdoctoral scholars, and the opportunity to advise PhD students from Drexel School of Public Health programs.
Requirements
- Expertise in molecular epidemiology, social epidemiology, biostatistics, informatics, or bioinformatics.
- Research focus on SKCC catchment area priorities including breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, multiple myeloma, and colorectal cancer.
- Experience with NCI grant funding or K99/R00 support.
Qualifications
- PhD, DrPH, MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree.
- Ability to mentor doctoral and/or post-doctoral trainees interested in health equity in cancer.
Skills
Preference will be given to investigators with experience in:
- Molecular epidemiology
- Social epidemiology
- Biostatistics
- Informatics
- Bioinformatics
