Faculty, Non-Tenure Track, Lecturer – Electrical and Computer Engineering
About the Role
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Utah Valley University invites applications for a faculty lecturer position in Electrical and Computer Engineering, beginning January 1, 2027. The lecturer will teach undergraduate courses, attend and participate in department meetings, and may serve on department committees related to their area of expertise and teaching.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses such as circuit theory, electronic systems lab, engineering analysis, and applied probability and statistics for engineers.
- Design laboratory courses and prepare laboratory instructional materials.
- Cultivate a student-centered learning environment and help students succeed.
- Assess teaching results and apply findings to improve courses, laboratories, curriculum, and teaching effectiveness.
- Coordinate and participate in recruitment activities for the department.
- Instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in classrooms, online, and laboratories using methods such as demonstration, discussion, visual aids, lectures, and individualized instruction.
- Plan, prepare, and follow an approved course of study with measurable objectives for each course taught.
- Prepare instructional materials and evaluate student performance using appropriate testing and grading procedures.
- Serve the department by attending meetings and participating in committees related to expertise and teaching.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, applied research, mentoring, and course development.
- Practical experience in electrical engineering and computer engineering areas.
Skills
- Knowledge, expertise, and experience in subject matter and content in computer engineering and electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of outcomes assessment processes.
- Experience in developing and teaching courses.
- Excellent pedagogical skills, including creating an engaging, supportive learning environment.
