Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh, a top-7 program (U.S. News & World Report). The role supports the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program through part-time, 12-month appointment-stream instruction at the rank of Adjunct Instructor. The department is part of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and offers entry-level DPT (traditional and upcoming hybrid formats), post-professional MS and PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences, and hybrid certificate programs (Primary Spine Practitioner and Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist).
Responsibilities
- Online and in-person instruction and/or laboratory assistance
- Collaborate with teaching faculty and leadership on curriculum planning, content development, and creation of assessment tools
- Provide teaching support, facilitate small group break-out sessions and discussions
- Grade and evaluate student performance, complete assessments, and proctor exams
- Provide ancillary support services for instructors as needed
- Leverage the department’s partnership with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a world-class academic medical center
- Work effectively within a highly productive team
Requirements
- Earned entry-level professional PT degree from a CAPTE-accredited program
- Active PT license in the United States
This is a part-time, appointment-stream position. Time commitment varies by course. Proposed starting date: September 1, 2026.
