Faculty Associate - School of Accountancy
Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, School of Accountancy seeks multiple part-time Faculty Associates for the 2026-2027 academic year. These are 1-2 session (fall or spring), non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments up to .40 FTE; the number of courses depends on needs, funding, and enrollment. Faculty Associates may not hold multiple non-benefits-eligible appointments at ASU.
About the role
The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online accounting courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. The School of Accountancy offers degree programs at the B.A., B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels and is home to a large, research-active faculty covering all areas of accounting scholarship.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned accounting courses to undergraduate and/or graduate students
- Prepare and update course materials
- Evaluate and provide feedback on student work
- Assist and advise students
- Contribute to the School of Accountancy’s teaching mission
Working environment
- Classroom setting with extended periods of standing, lecturing, and facilitating activities
- Occasional need to quickly reprioritize and resolve conflicts
- Regular use of standard office equipment (computer workstation, printer, copier, peripherals)
Requirements
- Master’s degree in accounting, taxation, business administration, or related field; OR CPA certification or other major professional accounting certification
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate or graduate level, as evidenced by strong organizational and communication skills
Qualifications (desired)
- Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching accounting courses
- Significant professional service and contributions to the accounting profession
- Experience with training programs and industry partnerships
- CPA certification or other major professional accounting certification
