About the role
The School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies seeks part-time, non-tenure track faculty associates for a hiring pool.
Responsibilities
- Teach upper and/or lower division courses to undergraduate students.
- Teach asynchronous and synchronous online classes.
- Prepare syllabus, lectures and class materials, exams, order textbooks, and grade assignments and exams.
- Maintain regular availability to students including office hours as appropriate to course modality.
- Monitor student success and regularly respond to student academic issues.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree or higher in the field of discipline you are teaching or related field at time of hire, OR substantial professional/industry experience in lieu of a graduate degree.
- Record of scholarly publication or other relevant publications related to the field of Disability Studies.
- Knowledge of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Expertise in developing and teaching courses online.
- Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management system or equivalent.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness e.g., student evaluations, syllabi, peer observation, annual evaluations.
- In lieu of evidence of teaching effectiveness, qualified faculty associates will have evidence of subject matter expertise and experience with public speaking or training in the field.
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with students from a wide variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including first-generation college students.
Qualifications

Pay
Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
Schedule
Faculty Associates may teach no more than two courses per semester and may not hold multiple, non-benefits-eligible appointments at Arizona State University.
