About the role
The Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis) program at ASU's Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation invites applications for Faculty Associates. These positions are one semester (7.5 or 15 weeks) non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead instructor and include online teaching
- Provide leadership and guidance to assigned course co-instructors (academic associates)
- Review student assignments, provide constructive feedback, grade, meet synchronously with students individually or in small groups as needed
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours, 7 days a week
- Maintain a positive and supportive environment
- Remain in ongoing communication with lead instructor and instructional team through the course and 10 business days following submission of final grades
Requirements
- Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in Behavior Analysis, Special Education or related field at time of appointment
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D) credential in good standing
- Three or more years professional experience working with individuals using the principles of applied behavior analysis
- Experience as Academic Associate with the ASU Mary Lou Fulton College Special Education (Applied Behavior Analysis) Program (10 or more courses)
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of current practices and research in applied behavior analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of the BACB Task List and Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts
- Successful experience teaching online Applied Behavior Analysis courses
- Demonstrated success in working with a variety of learners
- Completion of the 8-hour Supervisor Training as required by the BACB for Supervisor eligibility
- Demonstrated experience supervising the applied experience of those pursuing BACB certification
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment
- At least one example of learning in issues of equity (racial, dis/ability) in educational contexts
- Experience with the use of innovative technology, online instruction and other synchronous and asynchronous distance learning modalities
