Faculty Associate in Dance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4 years of industry experience; OR a Master’s degree in relevant field, by time of appointment and 2 years of industry experience
- MM/MFA or Ph.D. in relevant field by time of appointment
- Professional experience and/or teaching in one or more of the identified disciplines
- Minimum of two years of post-secondary teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level
- Knowledge of local and regional disciplinary ecosystem
- Demonstrated experience developing curricula
- Creative Activity/Scholarly research interests and achievement as demonstrated through performances, presentations and/or publications
Requirements
- Teaching duties include preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes)
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus in dance movement practices, dance education, and/or dance scholarship.
Pay
Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.
Schedule
Positions are one semester appointments, part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications. A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester.

The School of Music, Dance and Theatre music program on the Tempe campus at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associates to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses online and/or on-campus in dance movement practices, dance education, and/or dance scholarship.
