About the role
Raytheon’s Quality and Mission Assurance team in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a Quality Engineer to support a fast-paced, multi-value stream factory.
Responsibilities
- Verify product and process compliance with contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
- Develop strong working relationships with touch labor, factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMA
- Perform regular data analysis; develop and utilize actionable metrics, generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure, and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
- Identify, physically control, and dispose of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
- Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and ensuring configuration management
- Develop and release First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102
- Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and internal stakeholders to manage issues
- Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions
Qualifications
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience specifically in Quality, Operations, Engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience with interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and/or consumable materials control
- Manufacturing process experience in one of the following areas (assembly, inspection, test)
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
- Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems
- The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date
- The ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Pay Range
$86,800 - $165,200 USD
