Factory Manager

About the role

Our dry pet food factory, located just 10 miles from downtown, has been a production facility for over 50 years. As producers of iconic brands such as Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, and Beneful®, we contribute to the well-being of pets in the community and nationwide. Our factory is also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address operational challenges while collaborating effectively with cross-functional Purina teams through clear and efficient communication.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure smooth operations within the factory.
• Analyze production data, identifying trends and making data-driven decisions to optimize factory operations.
• Foster the growth and development of the factory management team and staff through effective performance management, career development initiatives, succession planning, and coaching.
• Ensure compliance with all company principles, policies, local laws, and regulations, including health, food safety, and regulatory requirements for all manufactured products.
• Actively drive focused improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
• 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• 4+ years of experience working with factory budgets is required.
• Other Experience with Total Performance Management (TPM) or Lean Management Principles is preferred.
• Technical bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Management experience in a union environment strongly preferred.
