Factory Build Software Developer
About the Role
The position is with the Product Security Office Team located within the Cybersecurity and Digital Risk Management organization. The position is responsible for providing coding and user support for the DevID service; a key component of HPE Factory Build process, that provides the PKI Certificate. Candidate must be a US Citizen or currently have a Green Card.
This role has been designed as "Onsite" with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in DevID related meetings and calls during the USA hours
- Respond to emails from internal and external team members as needed
- If user support arises, it will be their primary responsibility until resolution and/or workaround is provided
- Work either as a team or individually on new code development and existing code revision; including creation/maintenance of automated test scripts for the DevID service
- Able to follow HPE processes for defect life cycle and build/release requirements with minimum guidance
- Able to follow current team coding standards; document, communicate, and implement in a timely fashion any required enhancements that are discovered during development, test, and integration – these changes are to be applied while enabling common source sharing
- Able to lead or participate in definition and finalization of Product Strategy and SPEC requirements for new DevID product functional needs
- Able to provide POC and Demonstrations as needed to help finalize requirements with usage of HPE agreed upon design tools
- Provide weekly status report on time; including progress against agreed to schedule tasks
- Maintain a quality focused with constant attention to detail. Not afraid to ask questions and/or provide feedback on strategy and/or issue resolution
- Must be assertive and self-driven that ensures timely and successful completion of all assigned tasks with minimal guidance
- Provide excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts at all levels of HPE management
Requirements
- 4+ years of applicable and documented technical experience in the following areas:
- GoLAN code development/maintenance as a pure-GoLAN service including experience with CGo build constraints (Linux vs Windows HSM shims), interface design, and the standard library crypto stack. (DevID Service) – Will maintain and extend a GoLAN-based REST microservices that issues X.509 DevID certificates to HPE hardware at HPE/third party Factory Build manufacturing and, in the field
- Java and C code development/maintenance since they are used in our legacy code
- Applied cryptography experience: X.509 certificate chains, RSA, ECC. Ideally hands-on exposure to post-quantum algorithms (ML-DSA, ML-KEM including raw TPM wire-format parsing / CRYSTALS suite)
- PKCS#11 / HSM experience: Understanding of key objects, handle vs label semantics, partition management; Thales Luna experience a plus. (DevID Service) - PKCS#11 integration for PQC keys that standard libraries don't yet support
- Able to integrate with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for both RSA and ML-DSA key operations, including partition management and key label conventions
- TPM 2.0 fundamentals: EK certificates, AK, attestation flows using go-tpm, TPMT_PUBLIC wire format (public area parsing)
- Linux systems: The production target is containerized Linux; must have experience with Docker, nginx, and systemd-level debugging
- Cybersecurity mindset: Familiarity with CNSA 2.0 requirements which are actively transitioning to CNSA 2.0 PQC algorithms
- MariaDB, MS SQL Server SQL and MongoDB used for certificate and artifact tracking
- GitHub Repositories. Able to effectively support a multi-environment deployment model. Able to maintain CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, Docker multi-stage builds and a container registry deployment workflow
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevID standards (IEEE 802.1AR)
- Familiarity with go-attestation or go-tpm
- Familiarity with application observability setup and practices
- Familiarity with HPE hardware (server, storage and switch)
- Familiarity with AI usage in product SPEC definition, code development, code validation test and code security monitoring
Work Schedule
This role will work with Teams across the United States and the world including Taiwan. From a user support perspective, the candidate will need to work during USA hours since they will be the primary contact for assistance for HPE Factory Build process issues related to the DevID service. It will include late evenings, and weekends as needed.
Pay
Annual Salary USD 111,500 - 211,500 in Colorado // 106,000 - 243,000 in Texas. The expected salary/wage range is provided for transparency. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level. Variable incentives may also be offered.
