Facility Technician I

Facility Technician I position at our Linden, NJ industrial warehouse and waste processing facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned warehouse duties safely and responsibly, including forklift operation for loading and strapping trailers
• Organize inventory such as boxes, drums, waste, and pallets in the warehouse
• Utilize drum grabbers, maintain a safe work mentality, and scan materials
• Handle, sort, move, and process hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials
• Perform waste container handling, staging, labeling, and inventory activities
• Load and unload materials and containers in accordance with company procedures
• Inspect containers and work areas to ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements
• Operate equipment and tools as trained and authorized
• Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility
• Assist with facility operations and general labor activities as assigned
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials, containers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
• Follow all company, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and site-specific safety requirements
• Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties
• Work safely in an industrial environment with exposure to strong odors and waste materials

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years or older
• 1+ years of related experience
• Forklift experience preferred (not required)
• Ability to use a computer
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as operational needs require
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and manual labor activities
• Must pass a respirator fit test and maintain a clean-shaven seal area when required
• Use of company-provided PPE, including respirator, safety glasses, protective gloves, protective footwear, and additional PPE as required by task or work area

Work Environment

• Industrial warehouse and waste processing facility handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams
• Exposure to strong odors associated with waste handling operations

Schedule

1st shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some weekends when needed.

Pay

$23 per hour
