Facility Technician

About the role
This position provides semi-skilled work in setting up events at The Center at Deltona, working under close supervision according to set procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up all tables and chairs for events in the ballroom and other rooms.
- Prepare tables with linen tablecloths and folded napkins.
- Place settings of china, silverware, and glassware on tables.
- Set up sign-in tables, gift tables, name card tables, cake tables, and DJ tables.
- Set up lighting for events and handle all sound and lighting.
- Set up ceremony sites in the ballroom or on the event lawn.
- Maintain inventory of all linen, including ordering or receiving from caterers for upcoming events.
- Remove trash and debris from rooms and dispose of it in the dumpster in the service area.
- Vacuum all rooms to ensure carpets look good before table placement.
- Monitor assigned facilities, correct or report any safety issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Position is subject to being "on call" and working after normal City work hours, as well as weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- High School graduation or GED equivalent.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire.
Pay
Anticipated hiring range: $19.41 – $25.91 per hour (36-hour workweek). Equivalent annual salary: $36,341.76 - $48,494.68.
