About the role
The Facility Sanitor position at Ken’s Foods is a 1st shift role, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. As a part of the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and sanitary environment, which is crucial for producing Ken’s Salad dressing and Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce.
Responsibilities
- Trash, debris and waste removal from the plant
- General housekeeping
- Ensuring compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality and facility cleanliness
- Drum washing
- Operating floor scrubber, manual pallet jack, electric pallet stacker, drum crushers, and cardboard baler machine
- Barrel washing
- Supporting recycling efforts by staging recyclable materials for takeaway
- Using water hoses and chemicals as required to clean and sanitize areas as designated
- Assisting other skilled workers as needed
- Cleaning and housekeeping duties
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and one to three months of related experience or training
- Basic math skills to measure weight, volume, and distance (add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10s and 100s)
- Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. (occasionally move up to 100 lbs.)
- Able to frequently stand and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Able to occasionally climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Able to hear
Qualifications
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work with chemicals for drum washing
- Food Safety Responsibilities: Producing products free of contamination, following all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies, reporting any suspicious activities, inspecting work area for possible product contamination issues on a continuous basis
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities
Skills
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences
