Facility Safety Coordinator

Job Summary

The Facility Safety Coordinator serves as a key resource during emergencies, providing leadership and coordination to ensure the hospital remains prepared to respond effectively to internal and external incidents while maintaining a safe environment for all who enter the facility.

Qualifications

• Maintain life safety standards
• Lead emergency management committee (emergency management, disaster preparedness planning and incident command activities)
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including standards established by The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and local, state, and federal agencies
• Oversee safety and security personnel
• Manage physical security operations
• Workplace violence prevention initiatives
• Monitor access control systems
• Maintain fire and life safety compliance
• Maintain Environment of Care (EOC) programs
• Monitor and create Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM)
• Collaborate closely with clinical and non-clinical departments, engineering, facilities management, infection prevention, quality, risk management, and local emergency response agencies to identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement
