About the role
One of our newest factories, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As a Quality Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for development, certification, and compliance of the factory’s Food Safety Management System. You’ll manage the factory’s Quality Program to ensure compliance to Company and regulatory requirements. You'll support the factory’s HACCP system, Food Safety Plans, and Food Defense Plan. You’ll uphold Safety as a core value in all activities while actively participating in all factory Safety and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manages Quality and Food Safety Training Compliance.
- Coordinates Food Safety Management System, company Quality and Food Safety Policy, Quality Management Systems, and Federal Regulations.
- Coordinate the Factory Internal Audit Program of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
- Ensure factory Document Control, Record Control, and Status Control programs are compliant with Corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in administration and communication of changes for Quality Monitoring Schemes.
- Review process annually with QA Management.
- Coordinate the factory Change Control program.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of quality systems, auditing, food safety, quality document control, or related experience within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.
Pay
The approximate pay range for this position is $58,000 - $95,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
