Facility Operations Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Analyze maintenance history for facilities and equipment.
- Establish maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment.
- Develop and update maintenance equipment profiles.
- Record system maintenance and repair history.
- Prepare or assist in preparing annual and/or periodic program reports.
- Attend project maintenance meetings and relay pertinent information.
- Troubleshoot system problems and issues.
- Perform transactions in support of credit card holder and reconcile credit card statements.
- Function as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
- Develop statements of work, asset specifications, or purchase descriptions.
- Research, plan, schedule, and coordinate maintenance, equipment profiles, and related maintenance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.
- This position requires temporary duty travel up to 25% of the time.
- Requires completion of a pre-employment and annual physical examination to ensure required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties.
- Requires possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license.

To qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
Specialized Experience (GS-9)
One year of specialized experience which includes:
- Performing transactions in support of a credit card holder and reconciling the credit card statement.
- Functioning as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
- Developing statements of work, asset specifications, or purchase descriptions.
- Researching, planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance, equipment profiles, and related maintenance.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Education
You may qualify based on education if you have:
- A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Combination of Education and Experience
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements:
- Divide your total months of experience by 12.
- Divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
- Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Foreign Education
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
