About the role
The Facility Manager supports a high-visibility federal facilities and infrastructure program by overseeing facility operations, construction project execution, and quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily facility operations by conducting site inspections, identifying deficiencies, coordinating corrective actions, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Oversee facility renovation and construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, permits, schedules, safety requirements, and contract specifications.
- Cook up with government personnel, contractors, architects, engineers, and project teams to support planning, design reviews, scheduling, construction oversight, and project execution.
- Review contractor proposals, develop scopes of work, prepare planning documents, perform technical and feasibility studies, and provide contract administration support.
- Conduct building code compliance reviews, evaluate construction documents, and coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts across architectural, structural, civil, and electrical disciplines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) plans while overseeing Contractor Quality Control (CQC) compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project controls, schedules, quality metrics, risks, reporting, and closeout documentation, including Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built drawings, and warranties.
- Lead QA/QC meetings, coordinate project communications, and collaborate with government stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Facilities Management, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience managing federal facilities, construction projects, quality assurance programs, or infrastructure initiatives.
- Demonstrated knowledge of facility operations, building systems, construction management, project controls, and quality management practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and Microsoft Project.
- Strong leadership, organizational, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing experience.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), International Facility Management Association (IFMA), or similar credentials preferred.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), or other secure federal facilities programs preferred.
