About the role

A currently licensed registered nurse who has the responsibility for the administration of patient care services, coordination of patient care in a multidisciplinary setting and participation in general policy making, program development and educational in-service programs. Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000 (DOQ)

Responsibilities

  • Functions as staff RN according to schedule and patient load demands.
  • Maintains a number of primary patients for patient teaching, short-term care plans and long term programs.
  • Evaluates nursing care plans for completeness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the patient schedule.
  • Interviews new/prospective patients.
  • Maintains communication with direct care staff and the Medical Director for the purpose of identifying patient care and operational issues in a timely fashion.
  • Assures at least a semi-annual short term care plan review for each patient.
  • Obtains and reviews initial information for new patient admission or transients, assembles the medical record and schedules patients.
  • Maintains currently information of Hepatitis B status for all staff and patients.
  • Prepares the direct care staff schedule and assures adequate staffing at all times.
  • Responsible for inventory and ordering of all medications.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of nursing practice.
  • Maintains record of emergency care review and regularly evaluates emergency, CPR and disaster plans.
  • Reviews all patient care policies and procedures at least annually and makes recommendations for revision.
  • Directs and participates in the facility and corporate QA programs.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of all direct care staff.
  • Responsible for all direct care staff scheduling.
  • Personnel policy implantation.
  • Responsible for orientation and in-service education of staff.
  • Maintains CPR license.
  • Maintains current employee files
  • Develops and implements yearly goals.
  • Anticipates and plans for growth and changes
  • Makes recommendations regarding policy development
  • Covers communication and interpersonal relationships among staff
  • Serves as a communication source between the facility, hospitals, referring physicians and staff
  • Covers coordination of multidisciplinary staff meetings
  • Participates in the planning, implementation and reinforcement of the medical supervision program to support optimal communication conditions to the medical staff

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed registered nurse
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and policies
  • Ability to maintain records and schedules
  • Ability to evaluate and implement policies and procedures
