Facility Maintenance Worker II

About the Role

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long-term care facility located in Hanson, Kentucky, committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic Facility Maintenance Worker II to perform general maintenance work in a team-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work of employees and assists the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Performs janitorial duties in maintaining buildings and adjacent areas.
• Maintains and repairs plumbing, sewerage systems, electrical systems, and associated equipment.
• Makes carpentry repairs to buildings and equipment.
• Performs grounds maintenance, primarily lawn mowing and trimming.
• Handles painting and special projects related to building upkeep.

Requirements

• One year of experience in building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance.
• Formal training in one of the above or related fields may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Working Conditions

• May be exposed to extreme temperatures; must follow safety procedures.
• Must utilize eye and ear protection when operating certain mechanical equipment.

Pay

Salary: $15.14 hourly
Locality Premium: $2.88 per hour
