Facility Maintenance Technician I

About the role

This isn’t a typical handyman job bouncing between unrelated work orders.

• Work on modern, standardized commercial kitchen facilities
• Consistent environments → faster repairs, less guesswork
• Mix of hands-on repairs + preventative maintenance + facility support
• Independent work with support from experienced teams when needed
• Clear path to grow into Senior Technician or Facilities Management roles

Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance & Repairs

Perform general repairs across multiple sites, including:

• Drywall, patching, and painting
• Tiling and basic masonry
• Shelving and equipment installation
• Floor repairs and upkeep
• Exterior maintenance (roofs, gutters, landscaping)

Preventative Maintenance

Conduct routine maintenance on building systems:

• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Electrical

• Identify issues early and prevent costly breakdowns

Site Operations Support

• Travel between multiple sites (number of sites vary by region) throughout the week across the Greater Bay area
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day facility issues
• Partner with internal teams to keep kitchens fully operational

What Your Week Looks Like

• 60% hands-on repairs and maintenance
• 25% preventative maintenance
• 15% inspections, troubleshooting, and support

Requirements

• 2+ years of handyman, maintenance, or facilities experience
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based role
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial facilities maintenance experience
• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site environments
• HVAC/R experience or trade school background

Work Environment & Schedule

• Field-based role across the Greater Bay Area
• Local travel between sites (home daily)
• Monday–Friday schedule
• On-call rotation and overtime opportunities

Pay

$22.00 - $26.25/hour + overtime
