Facility Maintenance Technician - Denver International Airport

Responsibilities

• Perform building maintenance inspections and repairs throughout the main terminal, concourses, and outlying buildings, including:
  • Seating repairs
  • Ceilings
  • Minor roofing
  • Flooring repair/replacement
  • Overhead and automatic doors
  • Trim carpentry
  • Glazing
  • ADA accessibility and compliance
  • Minor building construction and repairs
• Perform standard-level trades work in areas such as minor welding, mechanical maintenance, minor electrical, general carpentry, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify construction, mechanical, and maintenance needs.
• Maintain records and prepare reports, including estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs.
• Use blueprints to sketch, plan, and design installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Observe all common safety practices.
• Operate lightweight and heavy equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Participate in snow removal operations and other emergency duties as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.
• Three (3) years of experience in construction, mechanical, or facility maintenance.
• A combination of appropriate education and experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License at the time of application (licenses and certifications must be kept current).
• FBI criminal background check required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees must report any felony convictions and/or moving violations.
• Flexibility to work shifts in a 24/7 facility, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays during emergencies or staffing challenges.
• Participation in mandatory snow removal duties.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn new skills and grow within the organization.
• Interest in the trades industry.
• Previous experience working on large mechanical machinery is a plus.
• Experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Interest in contributing to a large organization and community.

Pay

Full salary range: $26.84–$40.27 per hour. New hires are typically brought in between $30.00–$34.00/hourly, based on experience. Shift differentials of 7%–12% apply depending on the assigned shift.

Schedule

• Work on-site at Denver International Airport (parking provided).
• Four (4) 10-hour shifts per week. Primary shift will be discussed during the interview and may include:
  • Day Shift: 0500–1530 (5:00 AM–3:30 PM)
  • Swing Shift: 1430–0100 (2:30 PM–1:00 AM)
  • Graveyard Shift: 1930–0600 (7:30 PM–6:00 AM)
• Shifts are year-long commitments but may change based on operational need.
• Employees may be required to work extended hours or alternative shifts during emergencies, staffing challenges, or severe weather conditions.
