Facility Maintenance Technician

About the role

VLS Environmental Solutions is a recognized leader in providing sustainability solutions, with three divisions offering specialized services. The Facility Maintenance Technician position plays a crucial role in optimizing the department's workflow, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspection, maintenance, and repairs on all treatment plant equipment (tanks, valves, pumps, hoses, etc.)
• Tracks and monitors all maintenance work
• Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment - service and repair machines and their parts that operate primarily based on mechanical principles according to company, state and federal rules and regulations
• Ensures all jobs in the shop & plant area are completed in a proficient & safe manner
• Uses computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task list including diagnostic programs for engines and hydraulic systems, etc.
• Ensures all personal protective equipment is used as required
• Maintains effective communication / coordination with staff & management
• Provides professional & respectful treatment to drivers, visitors, employees, & management
• Inform management of area activities & significant problems
• Carries a communication device & monitors it at all times while clocked in
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Basic welding/fabrication knowledge or experience required
• Mechanical knowledge of tools and machines, including their uses, repair, & maintenance
• 2+ years facility maintenance experience preferred
