What this job involves
The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This is an entry-level position and can provide opportunities for growth in the engineering field. You will work as part of an engineering team of 10+ at multi-building client properties managed 24/7 by JLL.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned buildings.
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, and for the facility to keep these systems up to applicable standards.
- Perform predictive, planned, preventative and routine maintenance as well as equipment rounds, and service requests as directed.
- Perform maintenance in accordance with the JLL Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Aid in the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs, schedules, work instructions, SOP’s, and operational procedures.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with established work standards and practices.
- Establish work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product, suggesting changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department, shop, or work crew.
- Determine and/or assist with analyzing and resolving work problems and achieving work goals.
- Maintain time and production records and customer service requests utilizing a variety of computer/technology tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
- Trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience; commercial industry general building preventative & corrective maintenance
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) &/or Building Management System (BMS)
- Strong Customer Service & Interpersonal skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Strong Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills are required
