Facility Maintenance Technician (7:00pm - 7:30am)

About the role

You will perform high-level building systems and equipment operation and maintenance for all facility and utility-related equipment, including critical and emergency utilities for manufacturing areas and local support functions at the Drug Delivery and Penicillin buildings. This position ensures equipment is well maintained through preventive and predictive maintenance, monitoring of building systems and alarms, and addressing conditions before they impact plant operations.

Schedule

Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3-2-2 rotating schedule (every other week).

Responsibilities

• Work independently to complete maintenance activities while continuously building technical knowledge and skills through training and hands-on experience.
• Take a proactive approach to safety, lead by example, and follow plant and corporate procedures related to critical facility systems, equipment, GMP, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) to support reliable manufacturing operations.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance activities in facility areas.
• Conduct preventive and planned maintenance activities as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness within the work area and follow all safety and compliance requirements.
• Follow written instructions such as standard operating procedures and preventive maintenance instructions, and perform proper record-keeping following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment, including boilers, air compressors, stills, air handlers, motors, programmable logic controller (PLC) systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), temperature controllers, variable speed drives, and electrical systems up to 480V, 3-phase.
• Perform tasks such as equipment relocations, crating/un-crating of parts, mechanical adjustments and alignments, identifying and ordering spare parts, documenting all work, and clean-up before leaving the job.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and upgrades.
• Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with all safety requirements.
• Perform periodic work in clean room environments wearing appropriate gowning.

Requirements

• A candidate must not be allergic to Penicillin and Cephalosporin or their related products and minerals.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical certifications a plus.
• Associate degree in a technical discipline or above is a plus.
• Three or more years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with basic hand tools and electrical meters.
• Active curiosity about self-improvement and training, including maintenance techniques and new equipment technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and other technical drawings.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); Maximo preferred.
• Electrical knowledge and experience with AC/DC motors and drives, electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, relays, switches, sensors, valves, and servo motors.
• Ability to work with limited supervision, strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good documentation skills and strong digital literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to implement energy improvement projects.
• Light machining skills are a plus but not required.
• Prior experience working in an FDA-regulated environment preferred.

Pay

This position has a salary range of $52,800 to $72,600. The actual salary may vary based on relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
