About the role

Piazza Produce delivers to over 150 surrounding cities including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, and Michigan, offering a large distribution network that supports back hauling and product distribution for producers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sanitation duties for the warehouse and office spaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials properly
  • Check and notify management of pest issues
  • Notify any safety hazards or maintenance issues to Management
  • Complete and maintain required cleaning logs and records accurately and promptly
  • Perform work in accordance with established SSOP’s (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Regularly inspect outdoor areas and remove weeds from flower beds, walkways, parking lots, and perform snow removal and other landscaped areas to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Collect and remove trash debris from assigned areas, including workspaces, break rooms, parking lots, and outdoor grounds
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment
  • Support routine maintenance on building systems, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, dock doors, painting, and racking
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, hazards, or potential failures
  • Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records
  • Assist with facility upkeep including snow removal, landscaping, and exterior maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, SQF, GMP, and company safety standards
  • Collaborate with operations teams to minimize downtime and support production schedules

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in sanitation, janitorial, or cleaning roles within industrial, manufacturing, or food processing settings
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment; basic PLC knowledge is preferred
  • Familiar with Food Safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily; bilingual a plus
  • Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Produce Pro, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common email systems

Schedule

Monday – Saturday (off on Sundays and one day during the week), 6:00am – 3:00pm

Pay

$18.00-$20.00/hour

Physical Demands

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Travel as needed and required
  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Work in cold or wet environments
