Facility Maintenance Supervisor I

Responsibilities

• Supervising building maintenance technicians and skilled tradesmen such as plumbers, carpenters, painters, welders, locksmiths, masons, sign fabricators, and electricians in the building maintenance section.
• Performing general and specialized administrative duties such as reviewing and approving leave requests; counseling employees, writing inter-departmental reports, attending meetings, and corresponding with upper-level supervisors and other departments on the daily activities at the BWI Marshall Airport.
• Maintaining safe operating practices and enforcing same through building maintenance inspections, writing, and following up on work orders through the automated work order system.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: Five years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance, grounds, or skilled trades work. One year of this experience must have been in a lead worker, or crew leader capacity.

All employees designated as emergency essential are required to be available to work during weather, operational, and/or disaster emergency conditions. Furthermore, this position requires work in a 24-hour facility and you must be available to work any shift as required by the operational needs of the MAA.
