Facility Maintenance Mechanic

About the Role

Provide general maintenance for the facility including buildings, grounds, necessary repairs, and installation of office equipment and appliances. Coordinate necessary repairs and maintenance with external contractors. Assist with maintaining maintenance logs and notify appropriate departments of issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Repair or replace defective parts.
  • Obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and external contractors.
  • Assist in managing facility service requests and provide timely updates.
  • Route invoices for payment.
  • Perform facility safety inspections such as emergency lighting, eyewash stations, spill kits, fire extinguishers, facility vehicles, and forklifts.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and services on ERP system and route invoices for payment.
  • Assist with recording and storing maintenance information in written and electronic form.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to achieve solutions.
  • Maintain and supply conference rooms and break areas as needed.
  • Participate in activity surrounding Disaster Recovery Plan and Disaster Recovery.
  • Be available outside of usual work hours when needed to meet existing project deadlines.
  • Follow all corporate, local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.
  • Perform all other duties requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma or minimum of 5 years’ experience in building and equipment maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record to allow for the use of company vehicle as needed.
  • Forklift experience required; scissor lift experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Home & Business, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, SharePoint, and similar systems.
  • Frequently lifts and moves materials up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifts and moves items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to research, comprehend, and retain job-related information and instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. Person for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
