Facility Maintenance Mechanic

Main Responsibilities

• Perform and/or oversee preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completion of daily Preventative Maintenance (PM) work orders, scheduled repair work orders, and unscheduled emergency repairs.
• Project work associated with the operation of a production and warehouse facility.
• Maximize productivity and minimize waste.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities.
• Work in a safe manner and promote a safe working environment.
• Perform all needed maintenance functions in support of Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) initiative and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
• Perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
• Participate in continuous improvement process.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance and product support areas.

Requirements

• Computer skills (basic computer knowledge).
• Working knowledge of PLC controls (helpful, but not required).
• Knowledge of electrical systems including 110-480V systems, AC & DC control systems, installing, troubleshooting and repair.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems, with ammonia (preferred but not required).
• Welding-TIG, MIG, Stick, etc. Stainless / Sanitary equipment experience (helpful but not required).
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Forklift and pallet-jack certification (helpful, but not required).
• Knowledge of plant mechanical processes sufficient to analyze performance trends and recommend and initiate corrective actions to improve process performance.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. above the waist 10 times per day.
• Significant bending and stooping.
• Exposure to heights (may be elevated 40ft. on lift equipment).
• Willingness to work extended or any scheduled work hours.
