Position Overview
The Facility Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for assisting maintenance teams with the planning, scheduling, and coordinating facility maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of building systems, infrastructure and manufacturing equipment. This role supports maintenance teams, manages work orders, and interfaces with vendors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution of maintenance and repair activities.
Job Duties
- Maintenance Planning & Coordination
- Schedule and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across facility systems
- Work with management to prioritize and assign work orders based on operational needs and risk
- Monitor maintenance progress and adjust schedules to address delays or emergent issues
- Work Order & CMMS Management
- Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Ensure all work orders are properly documented, tracked, and closed upon completion
- Review system data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Work with technicians to coordinate external service providers for maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- Support procurement of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure vendors meet scope, safety, and quality expectations
- Inventory & Materials Management
- Maintain spare parts and consumables inventory to support maintenance schedules for various organization within Solid Power
- Coordinate materials delivery and verify compliance with specifications
- Optimize inventory levels to balance availability and cost control
- Preventive Maintenance Programs
- Work with System owner engineers and assist in developing and improving preventive and predictive maintenance plans
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime of systems / equipment
- Track maintenance KPIs such as PM completion and work order backlog through the CMMS
- Organize and maintain facilities and manufacturing systems Operation & Maintenance documents library and drawing management system
- Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in operations and production meetings to align maintenance priorities
- Serve as liaison between facilities, operations, and supply chain teams as required to meet departments objectives
- Communicate maintenance schedules, delays, and risks to stakeholders
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate inspections and support corrective action tracking
- Promote a strong safety culture within maintenance operations
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associate degree, technical/trade certification, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in facility maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related field
- Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems
- Experience with CMMS platforms (FIIX, Maximo, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Able to work on-site at both Louisville and Thornton facilities as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to walk large facilities and access mechanical spaces
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR
