About the role

This position performs daily inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs of UNC parking facilities, parking equipment, lighting systems, and cleaning equipment used by the Transportation and Parking maintenance section. The role includes annual restriping of parking lots.

Responsibilities

• Determine staffing levels for maintaining parking deck structures in good repair, ensuring routine maintenance is performed.
• Ensure parking facilities are clean, well-lit, and free of trip and fall hazards.
• Maintain safe and proper operation of all equipment, including lighting, elevators, parking control equipment, and computerized programmers.
• Oversee concrete construction, plumbing, emergency call boxes, and emergency standpipe systems within parking facilities.
• Ensure parking decks operate safely during adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

• Knowledge of all working components of parking facilities, including lighting, elevators, parking control equipment, maintenance and repair equipment, and computerized systems.
• Experience with concrete construction, plumbing, emergency call systems, and emergency standpipe systems.
