About the Role
Are you a natural-born leader ready to bring energy, expertise, and a fresh perspective to a vibrant campus community? The Budd Group is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Facility Director to lead our facility operations at a premier private school located in beautiful Chatham, VA. As our Facility Director (also known as Director of Facilities or Facilities Manager), you will lead all day-to-day campus operations for a prestigious boarding school in Chatham, VA. You will oversee a team of maintenance, janitorial, and landscaping staff, direct third-party contractors, and manage capital projects.
Responsibilities
- Leading and holding accountable a dedicated team handling maintenance, housekeeping, and landscaping.
- Serving as the primary mechanical expert troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues.
- Communicating proactively with campus leadership and ensuring prompt follow-through on all work orders and projects.
- Managing seasonal operations, including campus snow removal and special event prep.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on technical background in mechanical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Demonstrated capability to direct, motivate, and hold a multidisciplinary team accountable.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to oversee third-party contractors and project schedules.
- Flexibility to handle emergency calls and key weekend events on campus.
- Valid driver's license.

Pay
$85,000 - $90,000 per year
Schedule
Full-Time | Day Shift (Approx. 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM) | On-call for campus emergencies & select weekend events (e.g., Graduation, Move-in)
