Facility Custodian (Fairview Rec Center) Full-Time

Williamson County Parks and Recreation is seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Facility Custodian to join our team at the Fairview Recreation Complex. This full-time position plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, programs, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Fairview Recreation Complex by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and emptying trash throughout the facility.
• Clean, sanitize, stock, and maintain restrooms, locker rooms, and other public areas.
• Prepare, set up, and break down rooms and equipment for programs, meetings, rentals, and special events.
• Perform general grounds maintenance, including keeping parking lots and outdoor areas clean and free of debris.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment and safely use cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
• Perform routine facility maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, changing ceiling tiles, and reporting major repair needs.
• Clean windows, mirrors, walls, furniture, and other facility fixtures as needed.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of custodial supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Provide excellent customer service while assisting with the general operation and supervision of the facility.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License required.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day and evening shifts with occasional weekends.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience.

Skills

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of facility maintenance and custodial practices.
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and basic machinery.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism.
• General knowledge of Parks and Recreation facilities, programs, and amenities is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Operate cleaning equipment and hand tools.
• Work from ladders when necessary.
• Perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the workday.
