About the Role: Facility Custodian

As a Facility Custodian at New World Van Lines, you will maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our headquarters facility. This role contributes to creating a positive environment for employees and clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to ensure all areas are clean and presentable
• Sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly to maintain a hygienic environment
• Properly dispose of waste and recycling materials according to company guidelines
• Monitor trash receptacles and replace liners as needed
• Identify and report maintenance issues or repairs needed within the facility, such as broken fixtures or malfunctioning equipment
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other facility-related items; restock as necessary
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by addressing safety hazards or security concerns promptly
• Follow established safety protocols and procedures at all times
• Assist with special projects or tasks, such as event setup or furniture rearrangement

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of prior experience in custodial or facilities maintenance preferred
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements

• Lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing required
• Requires bending, reaching, and stretching
• Must be able to receive and follow detailed instructions
• Required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity while performing job duties
• Other duties as assigned
