Facilities Worker I - 250 Day

About the role

This position is semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of all facilities, grounds and equipment within the Prince William County School System. The work is performed under the continuing supervision of a journeyman mechanic, crew chief or foreman.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair school facilities, grounds and equipment
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs
• Assist in the implementation of safety procedures and practices
• Operate various tools and equipment to perform maintenance tasks
• Follow established procedures and guidelines for maintenance and repair work

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of basic mechanical principles and tools

Qualifications

• One year of related experience
• Experience working in a school environment preferred
