Facilities Technician, MI- P\T

About the role

The Facilities Technician - FMI position exists to provide stewardship for all aspects of serving couples through landscaping and maintenance at Focus Marriage Institute in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all buildings and structures on property
• Prioritizes campus-wide preventative maintenance and predictive repairs
• Maintains indoor and outdoor light fixtures and replaces bulbs
• Maintains water storage tank, wellhouse, and well
• Makes minor carpentry repairs
• Maintains water softener and water filtration systems, replacing filters and adding salt on a regular basis
• Hauls and stocks firewood and cleans fire pit
• Maintains parking areas
• Maintains plumbing, leak resolution, fixture replacement, toilet maintenance, and repair
• Maintains fire extinguishers
• Maintains and cleans HVAC systems and replaces filters regularly, many of which are in attics and tight spaces requiring crawling in confined spaces and use of an extension ladder
• Maintains property, facilities, sidewalks, parking areas, and trails so they are safe and secure for clients, guests, and employees
• Maintains and organizes all tools and equipment used in maintenance tasks
• Maintains and fuels campus vehicles, including guest shuttle and UTV
• Serves as consultant to GM on mechanical, grounds, and facility as needed
• Stocks/maintains garage and all storage areas
• Works with and provides access to vendors for various trades
• Works with Hospitality team in all areas of hospitality, including cleaning cabins, chapel, and Hospitality Center
• Affords assistance with serving guests, cooking, and kitchen cleaning as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience in building maintenance or construction
• Must be able to operate a UTV, tractor, and mower
• Must have clean driving record

• Knowledge/Experience: Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with employees in other departments, provide each guest with an experience characterized by highly attentive service, excellence, and cleanliness, work independently without immediate supervision, and perform various construction trades power and hand tools, heavy equipment, i.e., forklifts, tractors, large trucks
